How to Dye your Dark Brown/ Black Locs to Blonde ( blonde locs, blonde dredlocks)

For my hair, and I can't stress enough FOR MY HAIR.  It's thick, they are locs so though damage can happen it won't be like that of loose hair.

I used 2 oz of Wella Color Charm Powder Lightener
pour into non-metallic bowl
then I poured in Salon Care 30 Volume Developer
Then I squeezed in 1 package of UNRED
Then Stirred until a smooth consistency , it turns brownish
I used the brush to apply onto my locs, I also scooped handfuls and smoothed over areas as well.
I waited 30 min for MY HAIR in the time checking to see if I had the desired brightness
It could have stayed on longer but I didn't want to.
It was BRIGHT ORANGE then I washed out thoroughly with
Shimmer Lights Shampoo Blonde and Silver
I towel dried my hair then I took the 2 small bottles of Wella Color Charm Toner in a T14-Ash Blonde
and poured 1 and 1/2 bottles it in the bowl
and poured the whole small bottle of 20 developer  (4 oz) into the bowl and stirred.
I applied it onto my hair and saturated it to the scalp and waited for 30 min.
Then I washed out thoroughly with
Shimmer Lights Shampoo Blonde and Silver
DONE
style as usual

NATURAL CANDY: NATURAL BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT (LOC HAIRSTYLES, NATURAL HAIRSTYLES) 08-14

As an Afro American woman, the struggles of self acceptance is something we inherit at birth.  We are constantly shown images of waffe thin, blue eyed blonde haired women and we with darker skin, shapely bodies, darker eyes, and course hair are told our standards of beauty should match that of the woman I described earlier.  In America and most European countries in every poll Black Women are last on the list when measured up to the world's view of "Beauty Norms".  To make it plain it sucks to grow up thinking your ugly and people think so and wanting to be someone else just to barely meet a bottom bar of "World Beauty Standards". Because of this the Hair Weave industry is a BILLION Dollar industry.  We started wearing wigs in the 60's after integration and in order to get a job we had to fit "polished work standards and our hair became the NO's of the dress code list.  So we adopted wigs and weaves, Perms (which are cancerous) and straightening combs (like putting hot coals near your scalp) in effort to be more European. Also, a perception by the world that our hair CAN NOT grow....it's not true.

I appreciate that the natural hair movement has now begun to take flight yet again, since today's America is so mixed with many cultures that "MOST, but NOT all work places" will allow Afro textured hair to be worn without rules and restrictions.  However, we still have a fight on our hands because many corporations still consider our natural hair to be unkempt.

For this reason I am a Natural Hair Vigilante who is out to change the mindset of what beauty is one person at a time.  My facebook page is all about mind conditioning to the Beauty of Afro Textured Hair in it's natural state.  So let me share some of my favorite pics with you.

Enjoy

My Fashion Inspirations Plus Size / African Shop / Skirts 2014

I am a blog troll at heart.  I don't always have the time or money to do alot of shopping like alot of the fashion bloggers but I know what looks right.  So as the purpose of Fashion Blogs & Magazines I draw inspiration from pics I see to guide my fashion picks when shopping or piecing things together from my closet.  I will share with you what has inspired me in fashion this year.

Alot of ethnic prints and florals have been HOT all year and are still hot.  We've seen the 80's return in fashion as well as many other mixes of clothing styles.  To me fashion really is "DO WHAT FEELS GOOD" this year.back in the day, when you saw your favorite musical artist they would stick to a certain look or style but these days it's all over the place.

You might see more plus sized models used in my e-blogs because... well I'm over weight...LOL
Also, It is HARD to find fashion that looks great on a bigger woman.  My thinking is if it looks great on a bigger woman YOU KNOW it will look great on someone smaller!

Ultimately you have to do what makes you feel good and helps you to feel confident that day.
xoxo
